Morecambe U16 Girls Ended Tournament on a High

Their first game was against Lancaster 1st where they were unlucky to go 1-0 early in the game after a harsh decision from the umpire, which concluded in a penalty flick. Although Morecambe were continuously under pressure, they defended well with some great saves from Hazel Cooper in goal. They were unable to capitalise on their chances in front of goal leaving them 4-0 down at the final whistle.

Morecambe met Garstang in their 3rd game and applied the pressure from the start. Some great attacking play from Siobhan Dalton down the right produced many chances for Morecambe but they were unable to find the goal. Garstang caught Morecambe on the break scoring the only goal of the game.
Morecambe finished the final game on a high against Lancaster 2nds controlling the game from the start. Morecambe piled on the pressure providing an opening for birthday girl, Laura Cape, who slotted the ball in the back of the net. The girls continued to pressurise the Lancaster defence and were unlucky not to score more goals. Although Morecambe continued to control the game Lancaster scored in the final minute making it 1-1.
